Other parts of Lubbock are served by the Frenship Independent School District, the Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District, and the Roosevelt Independent School District. There are also many private schools in Lubbock to choose from.
There are many colleges and universities in Lubbock and the surrounding area. The Texas Tech University, located in Lubbock, has the fifth largest student body in Texas, and has a university, law school, and medical school all at the same location. Other universities and colleges include the South Plains College, the Lubbock Christian University, the Sunset International Bible Institute, and the Wayland Baptist University.
